Spring is Here in Yellowstone!Retweet

Babies are frolicking  over the hills and the fields with their mothers right beside them here at Yellowstone.  It is a wonder to behold as people report all the sights Yellowstone brings to each person’s visit.  One day is not like any other.  The exhibit that the “Wilderness” of Yellowstone shares with all of us is not to be missed.

Here at Brook N’ Dell a new look is coming your way.  Along with this new look a special project will be announced shortly.  Make sure you sign up on the travel log so you can receive our emails on what we are doing.  You will learn more about how “Kid Reporters” and “The Curious Eye”  will play in this new Resilience Living Project.  Many people are involved.  We know you will want to be a part of it, too.

We will need each one of you to take part.  Yellowstone is the key to even sharing what you might have in your own backyard or local park.  Keep in touch.

When we say your support is needed, it really is.  Have you heard of Richard Louv and Nature Deficit Disorder and his special books.  The 1st one we suggest you read is “The Last Child in the Woods.”  Follow our link to Amazon to order your copy or visit your local library.  More will be posted along with a special announcement and new beginnings right here in Gardiner, MT.  Our headquarters are located right in the hub of all the excitement of Yellowstone. So, do subscribe and stay tune to our exciting announcements.  Horseback riding and Bon fires and the Wilderness    along with special events are going to be announced shortly.

Have a great day!  Let us hear from you.

Sincere Best to You!  Bless the Curious Eye!

Until later... Adele Arnesen, Resilience Living

NOW…Nature is a Resilience Living ToolRetweet

We’re are back!  Have had an exciting this past summer and fall in Yellowstone.   Now that the new year, 2013, has arrived we are taking on the initiative to support and take on the challenge – Bringing “Nature” back into our lives.”    As Richard Louv, author of “Last Child in the Woods” and “The Nature Principle,” shares a challenge we should take.

“The future will belong to the nature-smart—those individuals, families, businesses, and political leaders who develop a deeper understanding of the transformative power of the natural world and who balance the virtual with the real. The more high-tech we become, the more nature we need.”

—Richard Louv

Below are the Richard Louv’s Books that helps us wake up to the challenge in bringing children out and experiencing the “real world.”  To help adults wake-up to the importance of spending time outside and in the wilderness.

The Nature Principle, by Richard Louv - book cover

Last Child in the Woods

This challenge will begin by sharing these two books everyone should read.  Than provide resources including seminars, workshops and outside activities to support this initiative.

Would love to hear from you on your involvement with this initiative.  Visit Richard Louv’s Blog for January, 1013

We wish you the Best in the New Year, 2013.

Spring In Yellowstone CountryRetweet

American Bison

A bit of snow mixed with rain and than the sun comes out.  I just visited a dear new friend here in Paradise Valley and she said when ever anyone complains about the weather you just respond with the comment “Just wait a Moment.”  How true it is.  When you come for a visit you will be so amazed that if your day starts out with miserable weather…you will probably have a chance for experiencing a beautiful day.

Since it is May there is hope that there will be lots of precipitation before summer.   Finding out that it is so important to have lots of water, I learned that it will help prevent forest fires.

I hope you will come and join us in Yellowstone this year.  Will be moving back into Yellowstone National Park this week.  As I will be working with the Yellowstone Association the opportunity to share some meaningful information and exciting experiences will be coming your way.  Please let me know by sending me a comment on questions you might have.

Have a great day and will be back soon.

Maiden Launch – Maiden Voyage – What a Moment!Retweet

A Moment becomes a special visit with Tom, Tom’s Father and their friendEmery.  Thank you!  Visitors’ to this blog…please read the 4 comments about this special launch and the history of this boat.  Just press the word “4 comments” above.

Why this is noted as really special evolved from a close-up view of “The Drift Boat.”   There was something special about this boat.  Have seen them  on the river many times as they floated by; however, this boat glowed from the sun with a caught up feeling their was a story before me.  Guess what…there was.  Tom greeted both me and Gracie, my sidekick.  There was a proud smile on Tom’s face.  It was all about this moment.  The maiden launch and maiden voyage of this special drift boat.

Tom shared that his Dad just arrived from Washington State after completing this drift boat renovation.  Tom came in from Michigan near Lake Superior and friend, Emery, from Wisconsin, near the Mississippi.

Tom and friend, Emery, getting ready for their maiden voyage up the Yellowstone River

What a special moment in time for these 3 men.  I wish them great success in catching some handsome tasty trout however, there special moment together is the “real catch.”   The real catch of special moments together, enjoying their friendships, combined with the roll of this great environment …Paradise Valley, Montana and the Yellowstone River.

If you are seeking some special moments along the Yellowstone River.  There is nothing like Gray Owl launching area along the Yellowstone.  Just a mile away from O’Carroll’s Bed and Breakfast and Cabins.  Great place to stay and enjoy your fly fishing moments right in front of O’Carroll’s.

Learn more about this area, O’Carroll’s and additional resources and info below.

This area of Yellowstone:  Downstream from Yankee Jim Canyon, the river flows past the towns of Miner, Emigrant, Pray, Pine Creek, and Brisbin before entering Livingston. The stretch from just below Pray to Livingston is a wonderful and famous stretch. Rainbows and browns with quality hatches of insects and beautiful scenery make this an excellent piece of water. Floating is the first choice of most anglers although wade fishing is available in some parts. The section from Gardiner to Livingston is followed by Route 89.

Moments to PonderRetweet

Hello to all!  As I begin to blog, today, I recall the main reason why I started posting thoughts back in 2010.  It was all around celebrating the present moment by taking action, sitting still for awhile, walking along the water’s edge, conversing with a friend or a colleague, creating a blog to impart some thoughts.  Well, that is just a list of where I might find myself or what I might be doing during the day.

As I read and learn more about “being” it all comes down to being in the present moment.  It is all we have.  It is the time on our journey that could set off a creative moment that will change a future moment.  Sometimes I am mislead by things.  Yes, things do come up don’t they however, it is around what we do and how we react to these things.  What I really should say is not how I react to things but  ”act” on them.  Sometimes there are things which I need to ponder about before I act.  I have to remember I have choices here as I ponder.

So, with all the pondering that is going on in my head while I write I must make the choice to complete this thought and follow my day making it a good one.

I would love to hear about your special moments today.  So, whenever, you read this blog please ponder for a moment and let me know how your present day and moments are going.

You can either write a comment or email direct at info@inthemomentwithadele.com.  Love to hear from you!

Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Yellowstone Dream and More!Retweet

Every one has a dream…Many years ago Thurber wrote about The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.  As a follow-up to this short story, a movie was made with Danny Kaye, who some of you might remember. After seeing that movie and reading the short story again I bring my thoughts to Yellowstone Country and Yellowstone National Park. As Mitty had a number of special day dreams a visit to Yellowstone is a favorite dream of many.  Many, indeed, live out their dream in the wild…so was this a dream of Walter Mitty.  Let’s visit Walter Mitty as he shares this dream...click here .

You will see that even Yellowstone is a special favorite of the Mitty family.

If you are so inclined…drop me a note and I will send you a list that I have personally compiled about people, places and things to see and do here in Yellowstone Country.  In fact do it now.  Leave a comment here or email me at info@inthemomentwithadele.com.

Capture the Moment! Photo Memories!Retweet

Celebrating Photography during the Month of March!

Visit the Photography Room at the Art Center for 2012 photo contests

Capturing a moment through the eye of the camera, does it not amaze you at what you see.  My feelings transmit such excitement.  Capturing moments with the camera lens opens up a world I might have otherwise missed.

You Are On Candid Camera

Never knew I would be so excited about having a friend named Nikon.  It feels so good.   Since I have gained such a friendship the world has opened up and expanded into areas I would never have traveled to.  Even though I know the world expands as we seek new paths along our life’s journey, it still amazes me on what I find.

Paradise Valley Friends and the Absaroka Mountains

Today, as I started researching for a Brook N’ Dell Project and the  Photography Room at the Art Center I found myself finding so many opportunities for photographers…Even novice amateur photographers like myself.   This research objective is to provide an on-going resource guide to  many monthly and yearly photography contests.

Knowing that there are so many resources out there in the world of photography we invite all to join us in this endeavor.  If you know of  contests please send a message by using the comment section below or  if you wish send a private message to  info@inthemomentwithadele.com.

We thank you for visiting Brook N’ Dell Virtual Village.  Our mission is to support all in living an exciting purposeful life and capturing the moment!

If you are an amateur or professional photographer and visit Yellowstone National Park as well as Glacier National Park, please contact me as we are working on a project which might interest you.
